Hey there 👋 — I’m Newton, an IT guy turned cybersecurity enthusiast based in Nairobi, Kenya. I’ve always been the person who loves figuring out how systems work — and what happens when they don’t.
That curiosity led me from fixing computers and networks to learning how to protect them from real threats.
Right now, I’m diving deep into cybersecurity and ethical hacking, learning through platforms like TryHackMe and Hack The Box, where I explore everything from network defense to vulnerability assessment and penetration testing.
Before that, I worked in technical support, helping teams troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues — experience that built my patience, attention to detail, and ability to stay calm under pressure.
I’m passionate about technology that empowers people, and I believe security should be simple, smart, and accessible to everyone. When I’m not behind the screen, I’m probably reading about new exploits, tinkering with tools, or helping friends set up their home networks.
💡 Always learning. Always building. Always curious.
Let’s connect and make the web a little safer together.
Research Labs
Completed challenges on Hack The Box, a leading platform for cybersecurity training and ethical hacking.
Gained hands-on experience in penetration testing, vulnerability assessment, and network security.
Completed multiple courses on Cisco Networking Academy, including CCNA, Cybersecurity Essentials, and Introduction to IoT.
Developed a strong foundation in networking concepts, protocols, and security practices.
Completed multiple courses on Try Hack Me, focusing on hands-on cybersecurity training and real-world scenarios.
Gained practical experience in penetration testing, web application security, and incident response.
Authored a comprehensive Cyber Security Incident Report analyzing recent cyber threats and vulnerabilities.
Provided actionable recommendations for improving organizational security posture and incident response strategies.
Perfect solutions for digital experience
The project proposes an enhanced method for removing haze from images using Dark Channel Prior (DCP) and Enriched-Invariant Features. This approach aims to improve the accuracy and efficiency of existing haze removal techniques, particularly in situations where the visibility is severely impaired by haze.
Developed and implemented "EmailGuard," an AI-driven system for detecting phishing emails using 50 extensive features. The system leverages machine learning algorithms and natural language processing to analyze email content and metadata, distinguishing between legitimate and phishing emails. This project significantly enhanced cybersecurity measures, reduced phishing incidents, and improved the overall security posture of the organization.
"Vampire Attacks" is a Java-based application that simulates and analyzes the impact of vampire attacks on wireless sensor networks. This application explores the vulnerabilities of such networks and mimics the behavior of energy-draining malicious nodes.
